Frequently Asked Questions

The Questions Buyers
Actually Ask

Care, lead times, wholesale, markets, shipping, and personalization — answered up front so you can decide if we're a fit before you reach out.

Product Care

Are the tumblers dishwasher safe?

Yes. The powder-coated stainless steel tumblers we engrave are top-rack dishwasher safe. The laser mark is permanent and will not fade, peel, or wash off. For the longest life, hand-washing is still a good habit, but the dishwasher is fine.

How long will the engraving last on a keychain?

Years. Laser engraving physically alters the surface of the material, so it cannot peel, rub off, or fade like printed or vinyl-decorated keychains. Walnut, leather, and acrylic keychains all hold up to daily pocket carry for the long haul.

How should I care for leather and wood finishes?

Wipe leather and wood with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soaking, prolonged direct sunlight, and household cleaners. A light leather conditioner once or twice a year will keep full-grain leather supple. Acrylic can be cleaned with mild soap and water — skip the abrasive scrubbers.

Ordering & Lead Times

What is your standard turnaround time?

Five business days from proof approval for most orders. That covers single tumblers, keychains, and small custom runs. Larger wholesale and bulk orders are quoted individually and may take longer depending on quantity.

Do you offer rush orders?

Sometimes. Email jkinter@livesocket.com with the piece, quantity, and your deadline and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it. Rush fees vary by scope — we will quote before we cut.

How does the proofing process work?

Send us your idea, text, or artwork through the custom-order page. We send back a digital mockup of the engraving on the exact product you ordered. Nothing is cut until you approve the proof in writing. Revisions are included until you are happy.

Wholesale & Bulk

What is the minimum order for wholesale or bulk?

Most wholesale runs start at 10 pieces. Smaller runs are quoted at per-piece pricing close to retail. For larger commitments — corporate gifting programs, wedding planner kits, real estate closing gifts — pricing tiers kick in at 25, 50, and 100 pieces.

How does wholesale pricing work?

Pricing depends on product, quantity, and design complexity. Send your scope to our wholesale page and we will reply with a written quote within 24 hours. Payment terms are 50% to start production and 50% before shipping for first-time wholesale buyers; established accounts can move to net-15.

Hill Country Market Schedule

How often do you do Hill Country markets?

Most weekends through Q3 and Q4 across Boerne, Fredericksburg, Gruene, Dripping Springs, and Wimberley. The full schedule with confirmed dates, venues, and booth status lives on our markets page.

Can I pre-order a piece for pickup at a market?

Yes. Email jkinter@livesocket.com with the design, your name, and which market you will be at. We will engrave it ahead of time and bring it to the booth so you can grab and go — no waiting in line at the engraver.

Where can I find your market schedule?

The live schedule is on the markets page of this site. Dates, venues, and booth status update as they are confirmed, so check back before you drive out.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

Anywhere in the United States. Local pickup at the Boerne workshop or at a Hill Country market is free and avoids shipping entirely.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship after the five-day production window. Standard ground transit is 2 to 5 business days depending on destination. Texas orders usually arrive within 2 to 3 days of shipping; East Coast runs the full five.

How are pieces packaged for shipping?

Each piece is individually wrapped, cushioned, and boxed. Tumblers ship in custom-fitted foam inserts; keychains and small goods ship in rigid mailers. We have not had a shipping breakage in over a year.

Personalization

What file formats do you accept for artwork?

Vector files work best: SVG, AI, EPS, PDF. For raster art, send a PNG at the highest resolution you have — 300 DPI or better at the final engraving size. JPGs work in a pinch. If you only have a sketch on a napkin, photograph it in good light and send that — we will redraw it cleanly.

How many revisions are included?

Up to two rounds of revisions are included with every custom order at no charge. Most pieces are approved on the first or second proof. Wholesale runs with one shared design include the same two rounds per piece type.

Can you engrave custom fonts and logos?

Yes — that is most of what we do. Send the font name, the logo file, or a screenshot of the look you want. We will match it. If you do not have a font in mind, we keep a working library of clean, readable fonts that engrave well and we will recommend one for your piece.
